YOUTH PROGRAMS
Heifer Romania projects include projects where the
main beneficiaries are children and youth. Most such projects have
a vocational training side where the youth learn how to care for animals,
thus contributing to the project and at the same time learning skills
that will prove useful their whole lives.Small Farm For Orphans in Giurgiu Specialists and school teachers provide vocational training in livestock care, farming, gardening and marketing livestock products for the 30 Romanian and Roma children and youth in the Bethel Foundation in Giurgiu. The training also emphasizes the importance of taking care of the environment. The most diligent children are the pride of the entire school. Picture Gallery Farmers Feed the Children Part of the large project Farmers Feed the Children is the program “School for Ill Children”, which comprises educational activities that aim to help ill children keep the pace with the national curriculum during hospitalization in order to decrease school failure of long-term hospitalized children. Picture Gallery Livestock for Hearing Impaired Children in Hirbovat – Republic of Moldova Beneficiaries of this project are children with hearing disabilities hosted by the Special Boarding School in Hirbovat. The project’s main goals are feeding and offering vocational training to the children. Vocational training is more efficient especially due to the variety of livestock that Heifer provides – dairy cows, rabbits, hens, fish and bees. Picture Gallery Livestock for Orphans in Orhei – Republic of Moldova Orphans in Orhei, in the Republic of Moldova, are another group that benefits from the support and vocational training provided by Heifer Romania. The orphanage received cows and rabbits and know-how related to animal care. Picture Gallery
